Las Vegas, NV – Two Killed, Several Injured in DUI Crash on Boulder Hwy

Las Vegas, NV (April 25, 2024) – An impaired driver struck a family of five at a bus stop in Las Vegas on April 17. Due to the crash, Robert Higgins, 42, lost his life, along with his 14-year-old stepson. Amber Reedy, Higgins’ wife, and the young boy’s mother, sustained serious injuries in the crash. According to reports concerning the incident, Reedy sustained a broken pelvis and several skull fractures. Her two other children, an 11-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy, were also seriously injured in the accident. The young girl suffered a broken tibia, femur, and ankle, along with a cracked orbital and some brain swelling. The boy, who was run over by the vehicle, suffered a broken pelvis, broken ribs, a lacerated spleen, and deeply bruised lungs. All the victims were taken to a local hospital by ambulance shortly after the collision. The woman who caused the accident was identified as Cynthia Phelps. She is facing five felony counts of DUI and reckless driving resulting in death or substantial injuries.
