Pedestrian Crashes in Las Vegas

Each year, the state of Nevada sees tens of thousands of car accidents. In fact, in one recent year, over 50,000 collisions were reported in the Silver State. A percentage of these accidents involve pedestrians, who are the most vulnerable travelers on the road at any given time.  Almost half of these collisions take place in Las Vegas, which sees about 55 accidents per day. Unfortunately, the majority of car crashes that occur throughout the state happen due to the actions of negligent drivers. Sadly, over half of the reported pedestrian accidents that happen in the United States are caused by driver negligence. Negligent driving can come in numerous forms, but the most common include speeding, fatigue, intoxication, and distraction. In Nevada specifically, speeding is the main type of negligence that contributes to car accidents.

Across the country, driver distraction is the main cause of the majority of auto accidents. With the advent of smartphones, more and more people are becoming distracted by their handheld devices. When you are behind the wheel of a moving vehicle, it is vital to remain alert, aware, awake, and sober at all times to preserve your safety and the safety of others on the road at all times. Failing to do so could cost you your life, or take the life of another person.
