Las Vegas, NV - Pedestrian Loses Life Due to Crash on Tropicana Ave near S Decatur Blvd

Las Vegas, NV (July 30, 2024) – On Sunday, July 28, all northbound lanes of the Interstate 15 Freeway reopened between Barstow and Baker. These lanes had been closed due to a crash involving a semi-truck that happened on the Freeway, near Mile Marker 113. The accident occurred on Friday, July 26.

It’s still not clear how the accident occurred. Nevertheless, the truck was carrying lithium-ion batteries, which caught fire as the trailer lay overturned on the right shoulder. Fire crews were immediately dispatched to the crash site to put out the fire. Medical personnel were also sent to examine the victims. Those with injuries were transferred to a nearby hospital for further care. Police in Las Vegas continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
