Las Vegas, NV (May 14, 2024) – A pedestrian was killed in Las Vegas on Monday night after being struck by an intoxicated driver. The 63-year-old man is facing a DUI charge after the collision happened at around 8:00 p.m. in the 2600 block of North Las Vegas Boulevard. Police determined the wreck involved a pedestrian and a Hyundai Sonata. Preliminary investigations show the pedestrian tried to cross the road when the Sonata struck her. She was taken to UMC Trauma Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The operator of the Sonata was arrested and is facing charges of DUI causing death, possession of a controlled substance, and being an intoxicated person with a firearm. Police in Las Vegas continue to investigate.
