Esmerelda County, NV – One Killed in Crash on US 6

Esmerelda County, NV (May 20, 2024) – A 22-year-old lost their life after a collision happened in Esmerelda County about 35 miles west of Tonopah. The wreck occurred at around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15. Police report that a 2024 Chevy Tahoe was traveling west on US 6 headed in the wrong direction while a 2020 Kia Optima was traveling east in the east lane. Police say the Tahoe driver attempted to avoid the crash but was unable to. The driver of the Kia, Summer Reid of Iyanbito, New Mexico, died at the scene. The driver of the Tahoe suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police continue to investigate.
