Las Vegas, NV - Deadly Accident on Ann Rd near Simmons St

Las Vegas, NV (August 4, 2024) – Police in North Las Vegas are currently investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Saturday afternoon, August 3.

Reports from authorities show the wreck happened just after 4:00 p.m. on Ann Road near Simmons Street. Information from preliminary reports shows a Chevrolet Corvette and a black Jeep SUV were involved in the collision. A 9-year-old present in the Corvette at the time of the crash was unresponsive at the scene. She was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased due to the extent of her injuries. The driver of the Jeep also sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital. Police say the Corvette was headed south on Simmons when it tried to turn left onto Ann Road. While the Corvette was attempting the left turn, the Jeep was headed north on Simmons and was driving through the intersection at a green light. The Jeep was unable to avoid becoming involved in a crash with the Corvette, resulting in the Jeep rolling over onto its side. The driver of the Corvette remained at the scene and showed signs of impairment, according to police. The female driver was arrested and charged in connection with the crash. Police in Las Vegas continue to investigate the details of the accident.
