Nevada Car Accidents
Every day in the United States, tens of thousands of car accidents occur, resulting in over 17,000 collisions nationwide. These incidents lead to more than 7,500 injuries and approximately 100 fatalities daily. Accidents involving semi-trucks are particularly dangerous due to their immense size and weight, often resulting in severe injuries for occupants of smaller vehicles.
Regrettably, many of these accidents are entirely preventable and stem from the actions of negligent drivers. Over the past decade, negligent driving has become a significant issue, with more than 90% of reported auto accidents attributed to driver negligence, according to data from the NHTSA. Common forms of negligent driving include speeding, intoxication, and distraction.
For instance, annually, over 400,000 traffic wrecks in the United States are caused by driver negligence, with distracted driving alone resulting in over 3,000 fatalities. Fatigued driving contributes to more than 100,000 collisions per year, claiming approximately 1,500 lives annually. Additionally, driver intoxication accounts for over 30% of the national fatality rate related to car crashes.
